Recombinant ADAMTS13 inhibits thrombus growth in FeCl3-injured arterioles. The bright objects seen by intravital microscopy are fluorescent platelets forming thrombi. In an Adamts13 mouse, thrombi grow fast and occlusion occurs after 8 min, whereas in an Adamts13-/- mouse infused with r-hu ADAMTS13, a thrombus destabilization effect is seen as described in Fig. 7.
