Video 1.

EBP-2::GFP in various genetic backgrounds, related to Figs. 2, 4, and 5. The time-lapse video shows the events of microtubule growth at the plus ends visualized using the EBP-2::GFP reporter in PLM neurons of various genotypes [WT, klp-7(0), lin-17(0), and lin-17(0);klp-7(0)]. EBP-2::GFP comets moving away from the cell body represent plus-end-out microtubules, which are highlighted with green arrows. The comets moving toward the cell body depict minus-end-out microtubules, which are marked with blue arrows. Videos were captured using a spinning disk confocal microscope at a speed of 2.64 frames per second and played at 15 frames per second.
