Video 1.

Dorsal view of a pupa that carries hand-GFP and org-1-RFP. The video starts at late stage P3 and demonstrates the transdifferentiation process of larval AMs into the VLM of the heart. At the beginning of the video, the syncytial org-1-RFP positive AMs initiate dedifferentiation into mesenchymal, mononucleate myoblasts. These myoblasts keep contact with each other and migrate toward the dorsal vessel marked by hand-GFP expression. During the next stages, they start redifferentiating into the VLMs, which migrate along the heart tube toward the posterior. Frame rate is 4 frames per second.
