Video 1.

Representative field of WT cells showing the two phases of septum ingression with different ingression rates and levels of CW staining. Early log-phase WT cells were grown in YES at 28°C and imaged by time-lapse CW staining (5 µg/ml) fluorescence microscopy using an inverted microscope (IX71; Olympus) equipped with a Personal DeltaVision system (Applied Precision). Cells were observed for 96 min. Frames of selected cells were taken every 4 min.
