Exaggerated tails at the rears of wasA− cells. Cells were imaged by low magnification phase-contrast microscopy (Eclipse TE2000-E) while chemotaxing under agarose toward folate. Frames were acquired every 15 s, and the frame rate is 15 frames/s.
