Ciliary beating of ependymal cells transfected with TTLL6-siRNA. Ependymal cells were incubated with Tubulin Tracker green reagent for 30 min and washed. Images were analyzed by high-speed (120 frames/second) time-lapse confocal microscopy using a laser-scanning confocal microscope (LSM 5; Carl Zeiss). Frames were taken during 2.5 to 5 s. The depicted cell beats at 14 Hz (Fig. 3 D). The typical coordination of the beating that is schematically depicted in Fig. 3 E is lost. Bar, 5 µm.
