ER fusion after mating wild-type cells. Wild-type cells expressing ss-RFP-HDEL (which localizes to the ER; red) were mated with wild-type cells expressing cytosolic GFP (green). Images were taken by time-lapse confocal microscopy using a laser-scanning microscope (LSM 5 Live). Frames were taken every minute for 20 min.
