EM tomogram of a chemically fixed Δaim37 cell. Samples were examined in a JEM-2100 (JEOL Ltd.) or a CEM 902 (Carl Zeiss) transmission electron microscope operated at 80 kV. Successive xy slices through the tomogram are shown moving along the tomographic z axis. The video is shown at 15 frames/s; each frame is 1 nm in the z axis. These images were used to measure cristae junctions in Fig. 5 D. Bar, 100 nm.
