FAM29A controls the turnover rate of the mitotic spindle. HeLa/GFP–α-tubulin cells were transfected with a control siRNA. The turnover rate of α/β-tubulin in the metaphase spindle was recorded in FLIP experiments by an Axiovert 200M microscope using a Plan-Apo 1.4 NA 63x lens. Images were captured every 0.5 s and are displayed at 2 frames/s. The time stamp is in seconds. Also see Fig. S5 B.
