CAL1 RNAi. This video shows S2 cells expressing H2B-GFP and mCherry-tubulin undergoing mitosis after CAL1 depletion. Cells are unable to form a functional mitotic spindle, and multipolar spindles are often observed. Chromosomes fail to congress correctly and are hypercondensed, and cytokinesis results in uneven segregation. Stills are shown in Fig. 2. Bar, 15 µm.
