Rampamycin-induced PIP2 reduction leads to the formation of membrane protrusions. MTLn3 cells were transfected with an mRFP-tagged 5-ptase and a PM-targeted CFP-FRB domain. CFP-FRB images were acquired every 7 s using a confocal microscope. At 0 s, the cell was stimulated with rapamycin. The video rate is 9 frames/s. See Fig. 4 C for quantification of the formation of the membrane protrusion.
