HeLa cells were transfected with YFP-DRP1 and Oct-DsRed and treated with 1 µM STS. YFP-DRP1, red; Oct-DsRed, green (mitochondrial marker). Videos are taken from neighboring regions within individual photobleached cells to illustrate mitochondrial mobility and fragmentation. This video was taken from a cell treated with STS in which YFP-DRP1 was actively recycling. Note that the mitochondria are motile, and fission events are easily observed. Frames were acquired every 2 s. Videos are played at three frames per second.
