Prechordal plate morphogenesis in wild-type embryos at early gastrula stages. Differential interference contrast time-lapse video was recorded using bright-field microscopy of wild-type embryo at late shield stage (7 hpf), which was oriented onto the dorsal germ ring (shield). The video shows the morphogenesis of prechordal plate progenitors for a total time of 75 min and time intervals of 1 min. Bar, 50 µm.
