Conversion of a control multipolar neuron to a bipolar state. Slices from rat brain electroporated in utero with control triple mutated LIS1 shRNA construct at E16 were placed into culture 2 d later and imaged every 10 min. Multipolar neural progenitor cell at bottom left converts to bipolar morphology with a single major leading process as the cell initiates radial migration. Frame rate is 10 frames/s.
