Video 1.

Cells containing skTM exhibit only one region of F-actin kinematic behavior at their leading edges. FSM time series of fluorescent F-actin in a control cell (left) and a cell containing skTM (right). In the control cell there are two regions of F-actin retrograde flow at the leading edge, a lamellipodium with rapid flow, and a lamella just behind the lamellipodium with slow retrograde flow. Behind the lamella, lamella F-actin meets cell body anterograde actin flow in the convergence zone. In the cell containing skTM, there is only one wide region of fast F-actin retrograde flow at the leading edge, which immediately converges with anterograde flow from the cell body in the convergence zone. Notice filopodial protrusions in the cell containing skTM. Elapsed time in minutes.
