A cluster of S2 cells attach and spread on a con A-treated surface. GFP-actin allows the visualization of membrane ruffling and protrusion as the cells adhere. The long fibers in the cell at the top of the field are an infrequent artifact produced by overexpression of GFP-actin. Each frame was acquired at 5-s intervals.
